he customer suspected an external leak and had previously engaged another leak detection company; however, their findings were inconclusive and lacked detail regarding the location of the leak.

Upon visual inspection, we observed water continuously running into a manhole at the front of the property from a storm water pipe.

A flow test was conducted, and the water meter was found to be ticking over very rapidly, indicating a significant and ongoing flow of water.

We introduced tracer gas into the mains water supply via the garden tap located in front of the garage. Tracer gas was detected escaping from the ground directly in front of the property’s entrance, with a reading of 0.30 percent by volume.

We also carried out an acoustic survey using a specialist microphone, and the sound of the leak was clearly audible in front of the property’s entrance.

In conclusion, the evidence strongly suggests that the leak is located beneath the ground in front of the porch. The customer has arranged for Wentworth Moling to carry out excavation and repair works.
