This is a most recent leak detection report on a property in Winchester, the customer thinks they know where the leak is coming from.

On visual inspection we could see there was water damage to the concrete surrounding the internal stop tap and when the internal stop tap had been turned on, we could hear water continuously flowing through the pipe work in the bedroom.
We then carried out a moisture test and the concrete area surrounding the internal stop tap measured high, showing us, the area is wet.
Once we got the confirmation from the moisture test that there was a leak, we inserted tracer gas into the internal pipe work through washing machine connection.
Tracer gas was found being released from the flooring in the bedroom directly next to the internal stop tap at 40ppm-50ppm.
Once we had found exactly where the leak was coming from, we accessed the leak by cutting out a small section of the plaster board and concrete. This allowed us to then start repairing the leak.
A section of the 15mm copper pipe had a small hole, this was cut out and we fitted and new section of copper pipe, using solder fittings.
Once the repair was finished, we conducted a pressure test which came back as there was no pressure loss over a period of 15 minutes, this indicated that there was no further leaks on the internal pipe work.
In conclusion, the property had water continuously leaking due to the leak next to the internal stop tap.
Leak was traced and accessed and then repairs, the area was left clean and tidy and put back to how it was before we accessed the leak.
