We visited a property in Grayshott, Hindhead to investigate a suspected leak, possibly located beneath the customer’s driveway.
Upon visual inspection, we observed staining on the block-paved driveway. The customer suspects this may be due to a leak beneath the surface.
We examined the external water meter at the edge of the footpath, shutting off the internal stop tap to determine whether there was a leak between the external and internal taps. The results of this test indicated that the external water meter showed no movement once the internal tap was turned off. A reading of 01213 was recorded at the meter.
We then carried out a mains water pressure test via the garden tap. The pressure was maintained at 4.5 bar over a 20-minute period, with no pressure loss observed.
Based on the results of our tests, we found no evidence of a leak in the incoming mains water supply. To investigate further, the block paving would need to be lifted and the soil beneath excavated to confirm whether there is any pooling of water under the driveway.
