For this property in Hayes, we were called to conduct a leak detection on a suspected leak.
Upon attending site and visual inspection, we could see no signs of a water leak throughout the property. The external stop taps on the pavement in front the of shop and there’s no water seen to be leaking. The incoming water supply supplies the fish shop and the flat above, both properties are experiencing low pressure and the customer suspects this is because of a leak.
We preformed a pressure test on the incoming water supply, the pressure test was completed at the internal stop tap at the back of the shop. The pressure test results showed 3 bar pressure over a 20-minute period, this shows us there was no loss of pressure and no leak on the incoming water supply.
We conducted a pressure test on all internal pipe work, including the flat above. The pressure test results came back at 3 bar over a 20 minute period and no loss of pressure.
In conclusion, our testing indicates that there is no leak on the incoming water supply or on the internal pipe work. We recommend that the customer contacts the water board about the low pressure to investigate on why this is. It is likely that there is a fault on the external stop tap which is restricting the water flow.
